Vitamin D3 is administered by intramuscular (IM) injection to help treat or prevent vitamin D deficiency. The usual dosing schedule is once weekly as determined by your healthcare provider based on your clinical condition and laboratory results.

Potential Benefits

Possible Side Effects

Pain, redness, swelling, bruising, bleeding, tenderness, dizziness, headache, nausea, allergic reaction, or infection at the injection site. Serious reactions are rare but require immediate medical attention.

Contraindications

Inform your provider if you have kidney disease, high calcium levels, hyperparathyroidism, sarcoidosis, allergies to ingredients, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medications or supplements containing vitamin D or calcium.
